SCNO's members are intellectually curious students from every college, major, and year at the University of Cincinnati. Students get involved for a variety of reasons, such as:
- To give back to the Cincinnati community
- To earn 15 off-campus community service hours every semester
- To gain business and/or consulting experience
- To explore future career options
- To develop leadership skills
- To meet and collaborate with like-minded students
- And, most importantly, to have fun!
Our Process
1. ApplicationApplications open on our website at the beginning of every fall and spring semester prior to each new project cycle. Follow us on social media to know exactly when the application opens!
|
2. ReviewOnce applications close, each one is carefully reviewed and scored by our Executive Board. Scores are based on criteria such as major, experience, involvement, skill, and personal statements.
|
3. InterviewOnce all applications have been reviewed and scores tallied, the students with the highest scores will be contacted for an interview with our Executive Board.
|
4. AcceptanceOnce the Executive Board has made their final decisions, accepted students are notified. Once a student has been accepted into SCNO, they are eligible for all other semesters without reapplication.
|
5. MemberStudents are put into teams and assigned a new nonprofit every semester. Every week, we meet to allow our consultants to work together on their deliverable, which is presented to their nonprofit's board at the end of the semester.
